Zamir Chorale’s Zing!

Fun for the Whole Family

The Zamir Chorale of Boston will present Zing! An Interactive Children’s Concert, for youngsters, ages 3-10, on Sunday, October 28, 2012, 3:00-4:00 pm, at Temple Reyim, 1860 Washington Street, Newton. Admission is free.

Led by popular Zamir conductor Joshua Jacobson, this one-hour musical experience will entertain the children with popular tunes such as ”Hava Nagila”, and George Gershwin’s “It Ain’t Necessarily So”. There will be demonstrations of voices and musical instruments (including free kazoos for all children) and an opportunity for the children to join Zamir as they learn about call and response singing, rounds, and harmony.

Zing! is made possible by the Garber Family who will commemorate the tenth yahrzeit in October of Lou Garber z”l, an enthusiastic devotee of Jewish music and co-founder of Zamir in 1969 with Josh Jacobson, Zamir’s Artistic Director. Lou was passionate about kids, repairing the world, summers on Nantasket Beach, opening day at Fenway Park, and the local and global Jewish community – present and future.

The Zamir Chorale of Boston’s “music with a mission” has been recognized by American Record Guide as “America’s foremost Jewish choral ensemble.” Led by Founder and Artistic Director, Joshua Jacobson, the Zamir Chorale of Boston has established itself as a leading voice in the world of Jewish music for all ages.
